Congrats, Brian! I'm so glad it worked out so fast. But you point to why: you worked your network.

I'm teaching cover letters & resumes in my technical communications writing class tonight, and even though we talked about job boards, I presented students with a sobering fact: out of all jobs filled, about 10% come from responses to job ads online. The real ticket to finding a good job -- and the right job for you -- is by having that network in place for when you need it (freelancers are working on this constantly because we're always looking for new gigs and assignments and leads...)

Thanks Matt! I would say it's weird to be back in the saddle, but two weeks out of work is really only an extended vacation...or something. I actually told a story that included you today when we were talking about close working proximities & the use of instant messenger. Your reaction when I first im'd you was priceless.

Congratulations sir. I'm sure you're gonna rock and roll over there. Although you might not have the same kind of quality right outside your office as you did in your last place, haha.
